The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has successfully energized a 63MVA 132/33kV mobile transformer at Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) Transmission Substation.

The 50MW-capacity mobile transformer, energized July 27, 2025, is an addition to the existing 128MW capacity of the FUTO Substation, boosting its overall capacity for more bulk electricity transmission to Enugu DisCo for onward distribution to homes and businesses in Obinze, Iheagwa and FUTO.

This is one of the Federal Government interventions of the nation’s transmission network.
