*Real Madrid stun Roma with dramatic late comeback
Real Madrid scored three times in the closing stages to overturn a two-goal deficit and defeat Roma 4-3 in a thrilling encounter at the Stadio Olimpico.
Roma took the lead in the 20th minute through Marten de Roon, whose effort took a deflection before beating goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Real Madrid responded five minutes later, with Kylian Mbappé finding the net in the 25th minute to restore parity.
The hosts regained control after the interval when Donyell Malen scored in the 51st minute before completing his brace in the 57th minute, putting Roma 3-1 ahead and leaving the Spanish visitors facing a difficult task.
Real Madrid, however, refused to surrender and launched a late assault that completely changed the outcome. Carlos Espí reduced the deficit in the 82nd minute, capitalising on a rebound after Endrick’s header had been saved.
Endrick then levelled the score in the 85th minute with a header from a corner, completing a remarkable recovery that had seemed unlikely only minutes earlier. Antonio Rüdiger delivered the decisive blow in the 90th minute, finishing from close range after Arda Güler sent a corner into the danger area.
The victory earned Real Madrid three valuable points and demonstrated their capacity to recover under pressure. Roma, meanwhile, were left to rue their inability to protect a two-goal advantage in the closing stages.
*PSG overpower Manchester City 4-2
