Telecommunications and technology company, Globacom, will soon unveil a comprehensive suite of network enhancement projects, meticulously designed to elevate the customer experience.

The ambitious undertaking, the company disclosed, “is a testament to Globacom’s commitment to ensuring its subscribers continue to receive exceptional value, especially in light of recent tariff adjustments”.

In a statement, Globacom said it “is tirelessly working to expand its digital footprint, deploying new base stations to open up fresh coverage areas and strategically reinforcing existing ones to meet the demands of growing population.

“The goal is clearly to guarantee unparalleled network quality for both voice and data services, from bustling urban centers to remote corners of the nation,” it stated.

In a move demonstrating significant investment and foresight, Globacom is undertaking the monumental task of relocating its fibre infrastructure in numerous areas where road construction has regrettably impacted network integrity.

“Routes like Lafia-Akwanga and Funtua-Gusau are seeing this critical overhaul.

“We decided, at a huge cost, to relocate the fibres, many of which had been vandalized in several places by uncoordinated road construction activities, in order to bring best-in-class services to customers,” the company disclosed

The horizon looks promising for Glo customers as the deployment of hundreds of new sites across the country is nearing completion.

This year alone, we gathered, thousands of 4G LTE sites have already been activated in pivotal locations, with further hundreds of more sites are currently being deployed to further scale up connectivity.

This formidable expansion is seamlessly complemented by a massive upgrade of backhaul capacity—both microwave and fibre—along with a meticulously planned improvement of the core network.

Globacom unequivocally assures that these ongoing endeavors will culminate in enhanced service delivery, superior network quality, broader coverage, and noticeably faster data speeds, leading to an all-encompassing improvement in network performance.

Over the coming year, Globacom disclosed it is aiming to add over a thousand new sites, with sharp focus on expanding its LTE footprint to deepen its reliable data reach.

The company is also extending fibre to many of its hub sites, ensuring an even more robust delivery of service.

Equally significant towards sustainability, Globacom is actively minimizing its carbon emissions by expanding hybrid power solutions, relying more on battery power than generators across its sites nationwide—a substantial investment in a greener future.

Despite these progressive steps, the telco remains deeply concerned about the persistent and deliberate sabotage of network equipment, even though telecoms infrastructure is designated as critical national infrastructure, underscoring the urgent need for decisive action to curb this menace.
