The Abia State Government took a significant step towards enhancing security of lives and property in the rural areas in the state with the commissioning of five quad bikes for its Homeland Security Watch. 

These bikes are designed to navigate rugged terrain, particularly in areas like Umunneochi and its environs, where security challenges have been pronounced.

The quad bikes will enable security personnel access remote areas that were hitherto difficult to get to, thereby improving response times and overall security in the communities.

 The move is seen as part of the state government’s efforts to improve security in the state and ensure the safety of lives and property.

The quad bikes are equipped with features such as terrain accessibility, enhanced security, and improved response times, making them ideal for navigating the state’s rural terrain and responding to security challenges.

The State Government has reiterated its commitment to securing the state, with the putting in place of the quad bikes being a significant step towards achieving the goal.

 Providing adequate security the state remains the  state government’s top priority, with Governor Alex Otto vowing to continue to take bold steps to ensure the safety of lives and property.

This development was made on the heels of efforts to strengthen the staye’s security architecture. 

This included the inauguration of a 7-man screening committee to review the personnel and arms audit of the Abia Vigilante Service and the State Homeland Security Watch.
