BREAKING: PDP Crisis: Five anti-Atiku governors meet in EnuguThe five governors at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu

In a move that confirms that the crisis rocking the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is far from over, the five rebel governors who are opposed to Atiku Abubakar’s candidacy are meeting behind closed doors in Enugu right now.Ugwuanyi welcoming OrtomWike

The group led by the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, is made up of Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, and Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State.

The PDP governors were received at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, this afternoon by their host, Ugwuanyi.

They all drove to Government House Enugu where they met behind closed doors.

The agenda of the meeting is not yet known.

The governors did not address the media before going into the meeting.

But it was  gathered that it has to do with their demand that the national chairman of the PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, should resign from his position for peace to reign.

The five governors also boycotted the flagging off of the PDP presidential campaign in Abuja on Wednesday, September 28.

All efforts to broker peace between the warring factions have proved abortive.

“They (those promoting Northern exceptionalism in politics and bent on building on the current political hegemony) grossly underestimated him.

They didn’t reckon with his resolve to fight the malfeasance in the party. But Wike has vowed that he will teach them a few political lessons and they won’t take fellow Nigerians for a ride going forward,”  sources spoke on Wike.
