A newly released victim of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack, Professor Mustapha Imam has recounted his ordeal in the den of the kidnappers.

This is coming hours after the terrorists released another batch of the passengers who were abducted during the Abuja-Kaduna train attack that occurred on March 28.

It was reported that, a female and four males regained freedom earlier on Tuesday from the terrorists.

Recounting his experience, Imam, an associate professor of medical biochemistry at the Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto described his ordeal in the hands of his abductors as terrible.

He added that he won’t wish even his enemy to go through such an experience.

Imam said that in the first three and half months in the kidnappers custody, they were barely given food to eat, and many fell sick and without medical care.

He added that it was only in about the last two weeks before their freedom that they got food to eat.

Imam’s experience was shared via a video by a former negotiator for their release, Tukur Mamu.

He said: “My experience is terrible. You can see, I just finished shedding tears of joy. I am happy that I am free and would be reunited with my family very, very, soon.”

“The experience I have been through in the last four months is not something that I will wish on my enemy. The situation was really terrible.

“In the last two weeks, we were okay. But for the three and a half months, we were actually very very hungry. There were days we ate once in a day.

“I was the medical doctor in the camp. I was treating captives as well as the bandits.

There was no medication in the camp. There was a lady who went into coma because there was no medication to treat her of malaria.”

Furthermore, Imam pleaded with the FG to make urgent moves to secure the safe release of others still in captivity.

“I will like to call on government to take whatever necessary steps to ensure the release of the remaining people,” he added.
