President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after his working vacation in the United Kingdom and France, declaring that he is ready to resume official duties.
Speaking shortly after arriving in the country on Tuesday, the President said: “I’m here, ready to work and ready to go.”
The brief remark signalled his readiness to continue leading the country after spending about one month abroad on what the Presidency described as a working vacation.
President Tinubu had left Abuja on August 30 and spent one week in London before travelling to Paris, France, where he combined official engagements with private meetings.
Before his return, the Presidency had announced that the President would first arrive in Lagos to honour the memory of the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola, widely regarded as a symbol of Nigeria’s democratic struggle.

The President is expected to attend the premiere of a movie on Independence Day celebrating Abiola, the presumed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election.
During his stay in Lagos, Tinubu is also expected to hold strategic meetings with political leaders and close associates ahead of activities leading to the 2027 general elections.
While in Paris, the President held a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron. He also met with international business leaders, including Vincent Bolloré of the Bolloré Group and Chairman of First Holdings, Femi Otedola.
One of the major outcomes of the trip was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ogun State Government and DP World for the development of a Gateway Deep Seaport and a Blue Marine Economic Zone in Ogun Waterside.
According to the Presidency, DP World plans to invest about $7 billion in the seaport and the economic zone, a project expected to boost trade, attract investment and create jobs.
The President is expected to continue his official engagements after his return, with activities marking Nigeria’s Independence Day and other government programmes lined up in the coming days.
