Baze University has appointed Professor Abiodun Adeniyi as its new Vice-Chancellor and Ahmad Mahmoud Lawi as the Registrar.

Both appointments became effective on 6th May, 2026.

The appointments were approved by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Founder, Sen. Datti Baba-Ahmed, following what the university described as a rigorous and competitive selection process.

Prof. Adeniyi, a scholar of Communication and Media Epistemology, moves into the role after serving as the university’s Registrar.

He is succeeded by Alhaji Lawi, who was previously Director of Human Resources.

Both appointees have spent over a decade at Baze University, with records of institutional loyalty, professionalism, and administrative commitment.

The Board expresses confidence in leadership transition, expressing optimism that the new leadership team will advance the university’s mission, strengthen its academic standing, and enhance administrative excellence.

The appointments, the board added, reflect Baze University’s commitment to continuity, merit-based leadership, and sustained institutional growth.

The university community has congratulated both officials and called on staff and stakeholders to support them as they assume their new roles.

The statement announcing these appointments was signed by Management of Baze University.
