Undaunted by the threats from the Governor of Edo State, Mr. Monday Okpebholo and some personalities in the state, the former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, Friday, donated N20 million to the University of Calabar (UNICAL,, Dentistry Department.

The intervention was made after the university made known its inability to graduate a reasonable number of dentist students each year due to insufficient funding, barely managing to graduate only 10 students annually.

Just last week, Obi made similar donation of ₦15 million to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) to support its academic programs.

These gestures reflect his unwavering commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s educational system, which he believes is the foundation for national development.

He personally made the donation to the admiration of students and staff of the university.
