20 Kebbi Assembly Principal Officers resign

Twenty principal officers of Kebbi State House of Assembly, including the speaker Muhammad A.Lolo has relinquished their positions.

The lawmakers did not give specific reasons why they resigned from their positions in a letter they all signed to that effect but had earlier, in a letter signed by the clerk to the house, Sulieman Shamaki, dated 26, January,2023 with reference number KBHA/LEG/01/VOL.XI invited Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu to appear before them on Friday to explain how he spent N18bn federal government loan to the state.

The letter reads in part: “In view of your request for approval for Kebbi State Government’to borrow funds from the federal government on the 18th of October,2021 with reference number GHBK/8/21/Vol.1.

“The state assembly has approved the sum of N18,746,059,992,57 through it’s resolution dated 18th, October 2021

“In view of the efforts to ensure prudent management of state resources the house is requesting you to appear before the house to explain how and where N18,746,059,992,57 were utilized on Friday,27th , January 2023 by 10.00am”
