President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate arrest of Prince George Buchi Nwabueze in connection with the discovery of National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office”.

The President has also ordered the immediate suspension of three Permanent Secretaries: M.S Danjuma, Engr. Nadungu Gagare, and Richard P. Pheelangwah, over the incident.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), uncovered the purported fake agency in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume.

The Chairman of the of the ICPC, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents after a meeting with the President on Friday.

He said office space was illegally allotted to the agency within the premises of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation”.

He said investigators discovered that office space had been illegally allocated to the purported National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office within the premises of the OSGF.

The ICPC chairman did not immediately disclose the full circumstances surrounding the allocation of the office or the individuals allegedly responsible for establishing and operating the purported agency.

Following the discovery, President Tinubu ordered the immediate arrest of Nwabueze in connection with the matter, while directing relevant authorities to continue investigations into the circumstances surrounding the alleged illegal operation.
