The Transmission Company of Nigeria, Kano Sub-Region, hosted science students from Government Girls Secondary School, Dukawuya, Kano, on an educational excursion to its Kumbotso 330/132kV Transmission Substation on 4th August, 2026.
The visit provided the students with practical exposure to electricity transmission operations, bridging classroom theory with real-world application.
During the tour, TCN engineers guided the students through the electricity transmission process and explained the functions of key substation equipment, control room operations, and the safety protocols observed across the transmission network.
The interactive session also provided an opportunity for the students to engage with engineers, ask questions, and gain first-hand insights into power system operations.
The excursion deepened the students’ understanding of Nigeria’s electricity transmission infrastructure and stimulated interest in careers in science, engineering, and technology.
It further underscored the value of industry-academia collaboration in developing the next generation of technical professionals.
