Family to bury physiotherapist found dead in Umahi’s house July 17

Family of Mary Habila, popularly known as Mara, has fixed July 17, 2026, for the burial of the 26-year-old physiotherapist who was found dead at the Ebonyi State residence of the Minister of Works, David Umahi.

Mary Habila reportedly died on June 27, 2026.

Her death attracted public attention after she was found dead in the minister’s house.

The family, in a funeral announcement, stated that Habila was born on September 18, 2000, and died on June 27, 2026, at the age of 26.

According to the announcement, her funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. on July 17, 2026, at the Deeper Life Bible Church in Nok, Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The Works Minister, Umahi has called for an autopsy to determine the cause of Habila’s death. He also disclosed that she had been seconded from the David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences in Ebonyi State to the Federal Ministry of Works.
