Determined to sanitize the Lagos state urban landscape, the state’s Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA), in collaboration with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has concluded plans to commence a pilot clean-up exercise for telecommunications infrastructure across the state..
The exercise is scheduled to begin on May 12, 2026, at the Emina Crescent Junction on Toyin Street, Ikeja, Lagos.
The initiative requires active participation of key industry players, while technical teams from the Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), and Cable Infrastructure Providers, among others are expected to join in the exercise..
The Chairman of the Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) Cleanup Committee, Segun Okuneye, emphasized that safety is a non-negotiable priority.
He has directed all participating technical staff memberd to wear appropriate safety gear and strictly follow operational safety guidelines to prevent accidents during the exercise.
“Telecommunications operators remain committed to maintaining the aesthetics of Lagos State and supporting initiatives that promote a cleaner, safer, and more organized environment,” the committee said.
