In commemoration of the 2026 Workers’ Day, the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) organised a novelty football match between the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO), to promote unity, teamwork, healthy living, and staff well-being across both organisations.

The match, played in a lively and friendly atmosphere, showcased impressive teamwork, skill, and sportsmanship from both sides, with TCN emerging victorious at the final whistle with a 5–3 win over NISO.

The event underscored the importance of strengthening workplace relationships beyond formal settings, reinforcing both organisations’ shared commitment to collaboration, employee engagement, and healthy living.

In attendance were the management staff from both organisations, including the Executive-Director, Transmission Service Provider (TCN), Engr. Oluwagbenga Ajiboye; Executive-Director, Finance & Accounts (TCN), Mr. Chuks Ochijie; and General-Manager, Engineering (TCN), Engr. Mojeed Akintola.

Also present were the Executive-Director, Finance & Corporate Services (NISO), Mr. Ibironke Babajide; General-Manager, Human Resources (NISO), Mrs. Tijanni Halima; and General-Manager, Legal Services (NISO), Barr. Bashiru Mohammed, alongside other members of staff from both companies.
