Nigeria’s national oil company, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), has reported improved natural gas production and increased revenue in its Monthly Report Summary for February 2026, highlighting continued progress across key infrastructure projects and operational activities.

According to the report, natural gas production recorded steady growth during the period, rising to 7,458 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d). The figure represents an increase of approximately 2.40 per cent compared to output recorded in January 2026.

Crude oil and condensate production for February stood at 1.51 million barrels per day (mmbopd), reflecting sustained operational performance across the company’s upstream assets.

*AKK, OB3 pipelines record progress

The February report also outlined progress on major gas infrastructure projects considered critical to Nigeria’s energy security and industrialisation drive.

NNPC Ltd. disclosed that construction and installation works on the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline continued during the period, with significant milestones achieved across project segments.

Similarly, drilling operations progressed at the River Niger crossing of the Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) Gas Pipeline, undertaken in collaboration with key stakeholders. The company noted that the ongoing work reinforces its commitment to expanding gas infrastructure and improving domestic gas supply.

Financial highlights in the February 2026 report showed that NNPC Ltd. recorded revenue of ₦2.68 trillion, representing a 4.24 per cent increase compared to January 2026.

The company also posted a profit after tax of ₦136 billion for the period, alongside statutory payments and ongoing strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and long-term sustainability.

NNPC Ltd. stated that the performance reflects its continued focus on enhancing production, expanding gas infrastructure, and delivering value to stakeholders while supporting Nigeria’s broader economic development objectives.

The monthly report forms part of the company’s transparency commitment and provides regular updates on operational performance, financial outlook, and key strategic developments across the energy sector.
