NCC visits Plateau governor on digital economy collaboration

A high-powered delegation from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, in Jos, as part of efforts to deepen collaboration on digital economy development.

A statement on Wednesday by Ayiabari Kigbara, Manager, Media Relations Management, NCC, disclosed that the Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Josephine Piyo, hosted the delegation.

On the NCC delegation were the Deputy Director of Legal and Regulatory Services, Lawrence Abang; Executive Commissioner, Stakeholder Management, Rimini Makama; and Director of Digital Economy, Helen Obi.

The exchange provided opportunity for NCC and the state government to discuss strategies for enhancing telecommunications infrastructure, promoting digital inclusion, and supporting economic growth through technology-driven initiatives in the state.

The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with state governments to advance Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda, while the state government expressed readiness to collaborate with the Commission to expand access to digital services and opportunities for residents.

The meeting was programmed by the NCC to strengthen relations with stakeholders across the country, so as expand sustainable development in the telecommunications and digital economy sectors.
