A CNG conversion training program for unemployed youths, artisans, mechanics, and others has kicked off in Jos, the Plateau State Capital, with 120 participants set to benefit.

The program, organised by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) in partnership with Thermolinks, aims to equip participants with skills in compressed natural gas conversion, maintenance, and safety.

The training is said to align with the federal government’s National Gas Expansion Program.

Declaring the training open, Deputy Governor of the State, Josephine Piyo, representing Governor Caleb Mutfwang, stated, “This program represents a strategic intervention that aligns seamlessly with the development priorities of our nation and Plateau State in particular.”

She expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board for selecting Plateau State for the initiative.

Piyo, emphasised the importance of youth development, saying, “Empowering young people with practical market-relevant skills is one of the most sustainable pathways to addressing unemployment, promoting innovation, and securing the future of our state.”

The training is expected to benefit participants by providing them with competencies that open doors to decent livelihoods, entrepreneurship, and active participation in Nigeria’s evolving energy economy.

“The knowledge and skills you will acquire here have the potential to transform your lives, empower you as entrepreneurs, and position you as ambassadors of safe, efficient, and sustainable energy practices,” Mutfwang said.
