Senate President Godswill Akpabio has shared his testimony, saying he has been transformed by God’s special grace, urging Nigerians to commit to serving God in their respective positions.
Akpabio made this statement during the commissioning of the Regina Coeli Parish Rectory in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, emphasizing that God has prepared him for his role as the most ranked Christian in government.
Akpabio expressed gratitude for God’s blessings, saying, “If God can raise me from a nobody to be the President of the Senate and the number three citizen of this great country, He can do it for us all.” He encouraged Nigerians to position themselves for God’s blessings and contribute to church development, no matter how small the amount.
The Catholic Bishop of Uyo, Most Rev. John Ayah, praised Akpabio’s commitment to the church and advised him to ignore criticisms, saying, “You are important, and that is why they talk about you.” Akpabio also announced plans to commission a new worship center at the National Assembly in Abuja.
