INEC declares Soludo winner of Anambra governorship election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) winner of the November 8th governorship election in Anambra state.

Prof. Edoma Omoregie, Returning Officer of the election, made the declaration at the INEC collation centre in Awka, on Sunday morning.

According to the result, Soludo polled a total of 422,664 votes, while his closest rival Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress, got only 99,445 votes.

Dr. George Moghalu of the Labour Party (LP) came third with a paltry 10,576 votes, while Chief Jude Ezenwafor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured only 1,401 votes to come a distant fourth.

“I, Prof. Edoba Omoregie, Returning Officer for the 2025 Anambra State Governorship Election, hereby declare that the election was peaceful. Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, having scored 422,664 votes, the highest number of valid votes cast and having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected,” the returning officer, Prof. Edoma Omoregie, said.
