As the multi-million naira Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) Sector Command office and operations building complex, built and donated by Chief Barrister Success Obioma Akagburuonye, was commissioned on Saturday, September 28, 2025, by the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, history and posterity have documented this gesture of profound intervention in addressing the security concerns of Imo residents.

Governor Uzodimma has shown policy strength and political will in ensuring that insecurity in the state is curbed and reduced to the minimum. He has deployed both the kinetic and non-kinetic strategies to address the menace and the efforts are yielding exponential results.

Gov. Uzodimma, in a desperate quest to ensure Imo residents sleep with their two eyes closed and run their daily activities without criminal harassments by non-state actors, created the novel Ministry of Homeland Security and Vigilante Affairs, to collaborate with national security agencies to combat crimes in the state.

Now, Chief Barrister Success Akagburuonye, a peace Advocate, Philanthropist, and Kingdom Investor, who understands the time and what a patriotic citizen ought to do in a season like this, has risen in support of the Governor to ensure that Imo residents experience peace and realise their economic and social pursuits daily.

Essentially, the establishment of the Sector Command of NSCDC in his homestead, Ogbor Uvuru, in Aboh Mbaise Local government, Imo State, by Chief Akagburuonye speaks to his patriotic ingenuity to sustain his contributions to Imolites and the upliftment of the State.

Attracting NSCDC, a paramilitary outfit, set up by the federal government to combat crime and criminality, at the level of a Sector Command, is no mean feat. It takes deep consultations, political intelligence networking and maneuvering, and a willing deep pocket to bring it on board.

With the Command commissioned to start operations and engage crimes and criminals, the end to criminal activities in the three local government Councils in Mbaise, namely, Aboh, Ahiazu and Ezinihitte, the primary coverage scope of the Command, and indeed, Imo State, has come. The operatives have been charged to go into the nooks and crannies to smoke out criminal elements and their sponsors, with professionalism and diligence. Hence, the era of armed robbery, kidnapping, ritual killing, hard drugs peddling and sniffing, banditry, etc, is put on flight, as NSCDC Mbaise Command, Ogbor Uvuru, collaborates with other sister security agencies to neutralise the non-state actors and miscreants.

Founder and Financier of ‘Hope Rising for Imolites, a non-governmental organisation, through which Akagburuonye has extended medical, financial, educational, social and entreprenual supports to multitudes of Imo youths, the elderly, women and children. He has used the platform to give many Imo people money to start or augment their business, light up communities with solar power technology, medical tests and treatments, with appropriate drugs and facilities, entrepreneural skill acquisition and hands-on kits, etc., a eloquent testimony of his innate interest in the welfare of Imolites that transcends political and community leaning.

He has opened business channels to address youth unemployment, in order to reduce crime by setting up Obisco water manufacturing company, Akaraugo Micro-finance bank, Peace Be Still Hotel, etc.

An unrepentant Kingdom Investor, Akagburuonye, an Engineer, Lawyer Philanthropist, Real Estate Icon, and titled Chief, ‘Akaraugo Mbaise’, an honour conferred on him by his people as show of appreciation for numerous developmental projects he has executed. He is also an Ambassador of the Gospel, a recognition the Assemblies of God Church holds in high esteem, as their kingdom illustrous Son.

He singlehandedly built a first-of-its-kind Church auditorium for Assemblies of God – the Noah’s Ark, a multi-million worship centre, designed after the biblical Noah’s ark, commissioned recently by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former president of Nigeria.

As an ecumenical Christian, Chief Akagburuonye has built, renovated and donated huge sums of money to various Churches- Anglican, Catholic, and pentecostal, in Nigeria and overseas.

Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of Praco Int’l Ltd, a leading real estate firm in Abuja, Chief Akagburuonye has invested and developed estates in the federal capital territory (FCT) and beyond, for access to affordable housing for Nigerians.

This kind gestures of Engr. Akagburuonye will never be forgotten by Imolites particularly, the NSCDC project, that has brought peace of mind, business and social rejuvenation to the communities and state. His people will not fail to remember him when critical issues of state and national representations come through.
