The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has dismantled multiple trafficking syndicates, seized narcotics worth billions, and uncovered an askunkiess factory in Lagos.

At the centre of this crime ring is Indian businessman, Gupta Ravi Kumar, arrested alongside three Nigerians after NDLEA operatives intercepted 2.2 million tramadol pills at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The haul, valued at nearly ₦4 billion, had been disguised as multivitamins imported from India.

But the crackdown did not end there. In Ikorodu, Lagos, officers raided a factory producing Skuchies, a cocktail of cannabis and blackcurrant drink, seizing 6,029 bottles and over four tonnes of cannabis.

The factory manager was subsequently arrested.

In Anambra State, a couple was caught with 19kg of methamphetamine and skunk, while in Kano, operatives seized hundreds of litres of new psychoactive substances.

Across the country, NDLEA intercepted shipments hidden in crayfish, picture frames, video players, vehicle spare parts, and even a Toyota Sienna, underscoring the ingenuity of traffickers and the agency’s relentless surveillance.

Chairman/CEO Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd) commended his men for what he called a “balanced approach” combining enforcement with War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitisation campaigns in schools, mosques, motor parks, and communities.
