President Bola Tinubu lacks the basic knowledge of Nigeria and the federal system and hence the challenges of his administration in positioning resources and appointments, Senator Aminu Tambuwal has said.

Speaking in an interview, Tambuwal vowed that he is committed along with other collaborators to send Tinubu back to Lagos in 2027 following what he expressed as the failures of his administration in the economy, security and forging of a national government.

Tambuwal who spoke in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today also affirmed his support for Atiku Abubakar over Nyesom Wike who he said he has a better personal relationship with.

Tambuwal who said he is not disappointed with Tinubu’s low capacity for governance added that Nigeria has deteriorated in all indicators in the last two years under Tinubu.

He cited Tinubu’s primarily problem as his limited knowledge of Nigeria outside Lagos adding that the president had never really operated from the federal level.

He cited the failure to appoint ambassadors more than two years into office as one of the fallouts of the president’s limited knowledge of Nigeria.

Tambuwal who was unrepentant over his choice of Atiku Abubakar over Tinubu said that while Atiku was better off relating as a friend, but that he would support Atiku over Tinubu at any time to be president of Nigeria.

On the coalition to stop Tinubu he said that while it would be easier to defeat Tinubu with the oppositionists coming together, he, however, said that the presence of Peter Obi, Atiku and Rabiu Kwankwaso would not benefit Tinubu.

“It is a collaboration; it is not something difficult. Once it is about being altruistic and nothing personal. You have never seen me going against President Bola Tinubu personally, you have never heard of me going against Nyesom Wike personally,” he said.

He also debunked claims of fighting personal battles saying that his issues with Tinubu were essentially ideological and not personal.

“We disagreed on principle, the way, and the direction things are going.

“I had no problem personally with Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, but we disagreed, and I left PDP for APC,” he explained.
