Chief Fabian Adibe, veteran Nollywood actor known for his role in the classic TV series Things Fall Apart, has died peacefully at the age of 80.
He passed on around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, his family confirmed.
Also, celebrity journalist Seun Oloketuyi confirmed the news on his Instagram page, paying tribute to Adibe’s contributions to Nollywood.
Adibe, who celebrated his 80th birthday in February 2025, was widely admired for his portrayal of Ogbuefi Uzowulu in the adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s novel.
Beginning his acting career in 1987, Adibe also led Nigeria to its first Commonwealth Art Festival in 1965. Celebrity journalist Seun Oloketuyi shared the news on Instagram, paying tribute to Adibe’s contributions to Nollywood.
Family members are mourning his loss while celebrating his life and legacy.
