The former Governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, will be officially crowned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, 26th September, 2025.

Also, the state Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved his nomination, which was further confirmed after a state delegation met with the Olubadan-designate and members of the Olubadan-in-Council at his Bodija residence on Wednesday.

Ladoja’s media aide, Chief Adeola Oloko, confirmed the date, noting that the coronation will take place at the historic Mapo Hall, Ibadan.

Ahead of the event, the monarch-in-waiting met privately with the kingmakers at his Old Bodija home on Tuesday. The meeting, which lasted nearly two hours, was his first since returning to public royal duties following the passing of his predecessor, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.
