Nigeria’s Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has reassured the people and government of Plateau State that the Senate is committed to working with relevant government and security agencies to bring an end to the persistent killings in the state.

Akpabio made this promise during the funeral ceremony of late Professor Janet Plang, wife of Senator Diket Plang, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Labour and Productivity, in Jos.

He assured Governor Caleb Mutfwang that the Senate would work closely with the Federal Government to protect lives and property in Plateau State.

Akpabio condoled with the government and people of Plateau State over the needless loss of lives and described late Professor Janet Plang as a “quintessential woman and mother.”

The President of the Senators’ Wives Association of Nigeria (SEWAN), Dr. Unoma Godswill Akpabio, paid tribute to the late Professor, noting her commitment and dedication to the Association’s work, particularly in education.

Akpabio’s pledge underscores the Senate’s commitment to addressing the security challenges in Plateau State. The Senate President’s assurance has brought hope to the people of Plateau State that the government is working to end the violence and ensure their safety.
