A devastating humanitarian crisis is unfolding in Iran, where over 650 people have lost their lives in a massive Israeli bombing campaign launched one week ago.

According to the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), 657 individuals have died, and 2,037 have been injured in the 12-days nationwide airstrikes.

The casualties include at least 263 civilians and 164 members of the military, while 230 fatalities remain unidentified.

HRANA, which relies on a broad network of informants and publicly available sources, reports that civilian infrastructure has also been damaged.

A projectile struck a children’s hospital in Tehran, fortunately without causing injuries. In the western province of Ilam, a fire station was damaged, and an Israeli attack on a car factory in western Iran triggered a large fire.

The Israeli government maintains that its objective is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, which it considers an existential threat.

As the situation continues to unfold, the international community remains concerned about the escalating violence and its impact on civilians.

HRANA’s report highlights the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict, with the group emphasizing the devastating consequences of the airstrikes on Iranian civilians and infrastructure.*

The situation in Iran remains fluid, with many developments expected in the coming days.

The international community is urged to take notice of the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Iran and to work towards finding a peaceful solution to the conflict.
