As part of the on-going arms surrender and reintegration initiative spearheaded by Operation Fasan Yamma in collaboration with key stakeholders, several notorious bandit kingpins in Dan Musa Local Government Area of Katsina State have voluntarily laid down their arms and released kidnapped victims.

On 14 June 2025, terrorist leaders including Kamulu Buzaru, Manore, Nagwaggo, Lalbi, Alhaji Sani, Dogo Baidu, Dogo Nahalle, and Abdulkadir Black surrendered to authorities, renouncing their involvement in banditry and pledging to embrace peaceful coexistence.

In a goodwill gesture, the group released 16 kidnapped persons, consisting of seven women and nine children, with a commitment to free the remaining captives by 15 June 2025. The rescued victims have been handed over to local government officials for care and rehabilitation.

The surrendered arms have been secured by security forces. The general security situation in Dan Musa LGA remains calm, with troops maintaining a strong presence and active surveillance to ensure lasting peace in the area.
