The General Overseer of El-Buba Outreach Ministries International (EBOMI), a Jos-based ministry in Plateau state, Prophet (Dr.) Isa El-Buba, has advised the federal government to address the rising costs of living in order to reduce the hardship being faced by Nigerians.

The popular prophet who spoke to Blueprint in Gwagwalada, Abuja, on the occasion of Nigeria’s 2025 Democracy Day said rising cost of living in the country is unbearable, stressing that the impact is harsh on individuals and families.

He also appealed to the government to urgently address security challenges and flush terrorists, bandits and criminals out of the country.

“We want to say we notice some improvements in the reduction of the costs of food items, especially grains and the developmental activities and infrastructural improvement in the country, especially in the FCT. We are saying, ‘well done’ in those areas,” he stated.

He, however, added by saying, “As a group representing the people of the grassroots of this country, we want to say that there are still a lot of areas that need urgent attention.”

On the security situation in the country, he lamented saying, “it is still very porous and alarming because citizens can’t sleep with their two eyes closed; people can’t go to their farms because of Fulani herdsmen; people are being chased out of their homes and villages by bandits, our roads are not safe because of kidnappers; we want to say the effort of the government in this area is not satisfactory and we need urgent improvement.”

Also, the Chairman of the Initiative for Better and Brighter Nigeria (IBBN), FCT Abuja Chapter, Bishop (Dr) Ambassador Emmanuel Afolab, expressed concerns that Nigeria is gradually moving into a one party state.

He also added that Nigerians are suffering and the standard of living is falling and that the government should act quickly in order to alleviate the suffering of the masses.
