The Adamawa State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Barr. Hudu Yunusa-Ari, who announced a fake result of the governorship election while the collation was on-going has finally been smoked out and in police custody.

Ari, who went into hiding in a most bizarre manner after the declaration of the fake poll result, last month shocked security pundits, was finally said to have been arrested by the Force Headquarters, Tuesday.

Ari was provided security during the breach of the Constitution and the Electoral Act by the state Commissioner of police, the State Director of the DSS, the State Director of the NSCDC and the Military Garrison Commander in the state, but suddenly disappeared into thin air, when his presence was required at the INEC headquarters.

This is even as other officials and individuals said t9 be culpable in the saga are already being interrogated by the police.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Force Spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, in Abuja, Tuesday.

The FPRO said that “Barr. Ari, who was arrested by the Police Election Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Team in Abuja on Tuesday May 2, 2023, is currently in Police custody and is being grilled to ascertain the motives and motivations behind his alleged improper actions during the supplementary elections in Adamawa State.

“The Inspector-General of Police has given clear assurance that every individual involved/indicted in the matter will be apprehended and investigated in line with the provisions of the law for possible prosecution.

“The IGP has assured of the commitment of the Force to ensuring that justice is served in this case and that all guilty parties are brought to justice.”

Inspite of the clear directive by president Muhammadu Buhari, for the arrest and investigation of the other uniform officers who pr9vided Ari security, nothing has been heard about them, fuelling speculations that justice may not be served in the entire unwholesome activity.
