Abdullahi Abacha, the second to the last son of the late Nigerian military dictator, Sani Abacha, has died, aged 36.

Family sources confirmed the death on Saturday, that the youthful Abacha died peacefully in his sleep at the family’s Nelson Mandela Street, Asokoro residence, Abuja.

“He was hale and hearty last night, but was found dead this morning. He died peacefully in his sleep,” said the source.

Also, his sister, Gumsu Sani Abacha Buni, wife of Governor Buni of Yobe State, who posted news of the development, however, did not give further details.

“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. I lost my younger brother Abdullahi Sani Abacha,” she wrote.

Gumsu disclosed that her younger brother died in his sleep.

“May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him jannatul firdous, Ameen. Please include him in your prayers,” she stated.

The funeral muslim prayer held by 4pm at the National Mosque, Abuja Saturday.

Born in 1987, the deceased was one of the nine children left behind by the late military leader.
