The Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Southern Borno Senatorial zone,  Hon. Kuala Satumari, has kicked against the emergence of results that were not uploaded with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machine in some local government areas in the southern Borno.

Satumari who issued a statement on Monday in Maiduguri, said the party has concrete evidence to prove that results of the elections were not uploaded in some areas of Southern Borno with the use of BVAS.

“We have concrete evidence to prove that elections were conducted in some areas of Southern Borno without the use of BIVAS.

“Gwoza, Shani, Bayo, Damboa and Kwaya Kusar Local Government Areas that were mostly affected.

“I have personally called and notified the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the State REC of the non-usage of BIVAS for accreditation of voters in Ngoshe Gwoza LGA when it was first observed before more evidences poured in.

“Consequently, the good people of Southern Borno and I will resist any attempt by any individual, group or agency of government to violate the provisions of the Electoral Act to disrupt the peaceful election process in which I am already leading in areas where elections were properly conducted in accordance with the provisions of the new electoral act using BIVAS for accreditation.

“This situation has been escalated to the highest authority and we urge INEC not to declare the results of contentious areas of Southern Borno, but consider outright cancellations of fraudulent results obtained from the violation of the Electoral Act.

“I ask all our supporters to remain calm and await the outcome of our engagements to address the issue,” Satumari said.
