The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Faruq Yahaya has charged troops of Sector 2 Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI to sustain the conduct of military operations in order to professionally defeat all adversaries in the Defence of Nigeria. He made the statement on 26 December 2022 while delivering his Christmas message during his Luncheon with frontline troops in Damaturu the Yobe State capital.

The COAS, who was represented by the Commander Sector 2 Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI Major General Koko Isoni during the occasion paid special tribute to some of the colleagues who had paid the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. He added that the Nigerian Army remains committed in providing quality welfare for their families and preserving the memories of their uncommon sacrifice.

He further reminded all personnel to remain apolitical as the 2023 General Elections approached. He charged troops to be professional at all times and strictly abide by the Code of Conduct and Rules of engagement throughout the electioneering period.

The event was colourful as it was graced by Yobe State Government officials, heads of other security agencies, representatives of non governmental organizations, traditional rulers as well as friends and well wishers.
