Amid calls for his sack, Rufai Oseni says he has nothing against Tinubu

A key Arise News television anchor, Rufai Oseni has bemoaned the hatred from the camp of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu saying that he does not have anything against the APC presidential candidate despite the viciousness of his men against him.

Speaking against the background of the reported call for his sack by the Tinubu camp, Rufai Oseni speaking on Arise News’ Morning Show on Monday said the hatred of the camp of the APC presidential candidate was even taken to his father’s recent burial when according to him they chastised it as a political gathering.

“It is on record, I have nothing against Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I love everybody equally because it is my injunction as a Christian to love. I have nothing against Bayo Onanuga and Dele Alake. I love them as professionals in their own field.

“But also, the kind of journalism that I was taught, anyway they abuse me all the time that I am not a journalist, but I have spent quite many years in this business. I might not look it, but I have done over 16 going to 17 years. In Lagos alone, I put in close to 10 years in radio before I came, so I didn’t just drop from the sky. I know my stuff, I have worked with the best media brands all over the world, I have also mentored a lot of people in this business. I think the stress here is objectivity.

“What you cannot fault me for is that I have been objective with all the presidential candidates. The toughest interviews we have had here have been with Peter Obi. Trust me, the kind of hits we give to Mr Peter Obi when he is here, I am not sure we have been able to interview other presidential candidates on this platform like that and that is the level of objectivity.

“What I want them to know is that I love them irrespective of the hatred that is being meted out to me. I am a child of love, I was conceived in love.

“They even went further, they took a picture of me and Peter Obi and Jandor at my own father’s day of tribute. They couldn’t even allow my father rest in peace before they dragged my father, my dear father, the love of my life, into politics while I was still grieving and they labelled it a political gathering,” Rufai Oseni said in reiterating that he has nothing against Tinubu.
