Dino Melaye, the celebrated and witty political actor was practically speechless  at the weekend when presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore mocked him as one of the politicians hit by the Central Bank of Nigeria’s CBN’s programme to redesign the naira.

It was at a public event for the celebrated human rights activist, Ariyo Dare Atoye where Melaye in a show of solidarity donated N500,000 cash to a foundation for the children of the activist.

Ariyo Dare Atoye, a former journalist turned civil rights activist has been the toast of many Nigerians who praised him for his sincere devotions to uplifting mankind and constitutional order.

At the public event Dino Melaye while speaking had said:

“I spoke to my younger brothers, Tosin and Deji and they told me that they plan for an education foundation for the children and I am so impressed about that and I have made a pledge that I will give an annual donation of N500,000 for that foundation and I brought the first part of it, N500,000,” Dino Melaye said as he presented a bundle of N500,000 cash to the organisers.

Following him to pay tribute to Ariyo Dare Atoye, Sowore said:

“Good evening everyone. You can already see the effect of the Central Bank redesignation. Politicians that carry cash and well we are in a political season, but we are not here for politics.”

As Sowore spoke Dino Melaye rested his chin on his hands and was indeed speechless and his good deed was swollen up in the taunt from the presidential candidate.
