Court nullifies all APC primaries in Rivers

The Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, has nullified all the primaries conducted by ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state.

The verdict given Tuesday, was as a result of a suit lodged by some aggrieved APC members loyal to Sen. Magnus Abe, erstwhile Rivers APC factional leader, who later defected to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and picked its governorship ticket for the 2023 election.

The aggrieved APC members had approached the court to challenge the conduct of the party’s primary following their alleged exclusion from functioning as delegate during the exercise.

The judgement is a huge setback for party, as it faces the prospect of not participating in the 2023 election – just as happened during the 2019 polls.
