Supporters of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, were on Saturday celebrating on social media after fellow Obidients in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State and Makurdi, Benue State, poured into the streets to showcase their structure.

The demonstrations tagged as “One-Million-March For Peter Obi” took place simultaneously in Port-Harcourt and Benue.

A third show of Force in Kaduna was, however, cancelled by the authorities who cited insecurity as an excuse.

Photos and videos that emerged on social media captured large number of supporters rocking the party’s caps, t-shirts etc. Others carried banners promoting Peter Obi.

The cancellation of the rally in Kaduna led to a flurry of social media attacks against Governor Nasir el-Rufai even if it could not be confirmed if he ordered the cancellation as many sought to portray on social media.

Recall that, el-Rufai had taken to his verified Twitter handle to mock the Obidient supporters of the Labour Party (LP), presidential candidate, Peter Obi over their plans for a two million march in Kaduna.

The Governor had mocked the planned march stating that he hopes they get up to two hundred persons.

The organizers of the Kaduna State rally have called on supporters to remain calm as they resolve the issues that led to the postponement of the rally.

However, reacting to the pictures and videos of the Port-Harcourt and Benue marches which flooded  twitter, the LP supporters mocked opposition parties who had claimed that Peter Obi does not have a structure to win the 2023 election.
