A Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday granted bail at the sum of  N500 million to former Governor of Imo State, Sen. Anayo Rochas Okorocha.

Justice Inyang Ekwo, in a ruling rejected the objection of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) towards granting Okorocha bail.

Justice Ekwo therefore ordered Okorocha to provide a surety, who will stand surety in the same amount.

The judge also granted bail to Okorocha’s co-defendant, Anyim Nyerere Chinenye on the conditions attached to the administrative bail earlier granted him by the EFCC.

Trial is to commence on November 7th.

If Okorocha meets the bail the bail conditions, he may attend the All Progressive Congress (APC) Presidential Primary scheduled for June 6th to 8th, at the Eagle Square.

He was a Presidential aspirant in the party before his arrest by the anti-graft agency last week.
