Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde has disclosed that the visit of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Group of Five (G-5) on Thursday to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja was part of the nation building efforts of the visitors.
Speaking to State House Correspondents after the closed doors meeting with Tinubu, Makinde who spoke on behalf of the G-5 made up of immediate governors of Rivers, Nyesom Wike; Enugu, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; Abia, Okezie Ikpeazu and Benue, Samuel Ortom, said that the group came to let the President know what they stood for which are fairness, justice and equity.
Said he: “Well, nation building is a very difficult task. You have to keep evaluating, you know what your day is, where you’re going? So, we have to keep seeing the President, you know, to let him know what is happening.
“And for this evening, the G-5, the integrity group, we also came to let the President know what we stood for. Fairness, justice, and equity”.
Asked where the G-5 is going now after elections have been won and lost, Makinde replied thus: “We are going towards Mr. President, you know, coming with us on the route for fairness, for justice and for equity in Nigeria”.
