Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has declared that no price is too much for peace to reign in the state.
Speaking at the 3rd Convocation and 6th Founders Day ceremonies of the Peter and Mary Odili University of Medical Sciences in Iriebe Town, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers state, Governor Timi Fubara said he is committed to ensuring peace in the state and among its people so as to foster development.

The governor assured that he is prepared and will continue to pay the necessary price that will guarantee peace in the state.
Earlier, Governor Fubara signed a peace deal with the leadership of the state house of assembly, the Wike’s faction, who decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Rivers State governor also agreed to withdraw all the suits instituted against the defected lawmakers, while the house of assembly agreed that all impeachment moves against Fubara would be dropped.
Another significant agreement reached at the resolution was the independence of the legislature. Fubara and Wike’s faction agreed that the governor would not interfere in the house’s activities while the lawmakers would be allowed to hold meetings at their place of choice.
Fubara has also agreed to reinstate the full funding of the state house of assembly, and he will not interfere in the legislature’s finances from now on.
