Armed terrorists suspected to be kidnappers, Tuesday morning, has again attacked the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Ituku Ozalla, in Enugu State, abducting one of its Deputy Directors and a security man.
Earlier this year, a Resident Doctor was attacked by similar set of terrorists at the hospital premises and abducted, but later managed to escape from the kidnappers’ den.
According to eyewitness report, the kidnappers allegedly abducted a female Deputy Director of the hospital and a security man, Tuesday and whisked off to an unknown place.
An SUV allegedly belonging to the abducted woman, a nurse, was seen abandoned in a viral video with bullet-perforated glasses on the front passenger’s side.
The police and hospital management are yet to confirm the incident, however, a reliable source confirmed the incident, saying it occurred at the same location where a medical doctor was abducted few weeks ago.
“This is so sad; we are not safe at all in this hospital; everywhere is porous,” a distress staff member lamented.”
The stretch from 4-Corner, Ozalla, along the Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway up to Aki na Ukwa, Awgu junction and even up to Lokpanta in Abia State, have literally been taken over by hoodlums, who daily abduct people, kill some of them and demand for ransom on others, even with the several police and military check-points along that stretch of the road.
People say that even patients and their relations are not spared of this orgy of violence.
