The Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, has reiterated that security remains top priority of his administration, noting that the moderate policing efforts of the Police in the State have been yielding positive results.
Governor Mbah made the statement on Thursday while receiving the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in-charge of zone 13 Ukpo in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State, AIG Godwin Aghaulor, who led other senior police officers on a working visit to the Governor at the Government House, Enugu.
Zone 13 of the Police Force comprises Enugu and Anambra States.
Mbah who expressed gratitude to the Police for their commitment to working tirelessly towards securing Enugu State, urged them to maintain the tempo as there are still pockets of criminality in the state.
Earlier speaking, AIG Aghaulor, who reassured the people of maximum protection of lives and property, commended the governor for the security measures put in place by his administration.
The police boss said he was in Enugu to ascertain the level of peace and tranquility in the state and urged the people to continue their support to the police in the area of intelligence gathering.
He promised to collaborate with the state government in a bid to make Enugu one of the safest states in Nigeria.
