An escapee from the Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre, who was declared wanted by the police, has been arrested in Adamawa.
The escapee, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed (23 years old), was arrested by men of the Adamawa State Police Command.
Abubakar is among those facing terrorism charges, but were remanded at the Kuje correctional facility in Abuja, when members of their terrorism gang attacked the prison and set them free.
According to the Police, the suspect was arrested while trying to relocate to his native home of Bama Local Government Area in Borno State.
In a press statement signed by the Commissioner of Police, Sikiru Akande, in Yola, the Police boss said Abubakar Mohammed was arrested along the Adamawa/Borno State borders.
CP Akande further disclosed that the arrested escapee has been in detention at the Kuje facility since 2017 over alleged involvement in terrorism.
Akande also stated that the command had at other times arrested 12 suspected kidnappers and armed robbers and had recovered assorted weapons from them.
