…Sets up 37 man committee on zoning

In compliance with the 2023 election guidelines released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has released its Electoral Guidelines for the conduct of Primary Elections and Schedule of activities commencing with sale of forms which kicks off today (Thursday).
The party further pegged it’s Presidential Expression of Interest Form at five million while Nomination form goes for N35 million. The governorship Expression of Interest form was pegged at one million while the Nomination Forms is N20 million just as 500,000 was approved for Senate and House of Representatives Expression of Interest forms while the Nomination Forms will be purchased with two and three million respectively. The State Assembly forms were also fixed at N100,000 for the Expression of Interest and N500,000 for the Nomination Forms.
The party further approved a 50 percent rebate on Nomination Forms for youths aged 25 to 30 years for various elective positions.

Addressing journalists at the end of it’s 95th National Executive Council (NEC) which held at the party’s NEC hall in Abuja on Wednesday, the National Publicity Secretary of the party Hon. Debo Olugunagba said that 37 man zoning committee which is yet to be constituted will be expected to turn in its report for consideration by other organs of the party and NEC in two weeks time.
He said, “NEC also approved the commencement of sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms from Thursday, March 17, 2022
“The following amounts for the Forms were approved by NEC:
“State House of Assembly – Expression of Interest – N100,000; Nomination Form N500,000.
“House of Representatives – Expression of Interest – N500,000: Nomination Form, N2,000,000.
“Senate – Expression of Interest – N500,000; Nomination Form N3,000,000.
“Governorship – Expression of Interest N1,000,000; Nomination Form N20,000,000.
“President – Expression of Interest N5,000,000; Nomination Form N35,000,000”.
On zoning, the Party’s mouth piece continued, “NEC also approved the establishment of a 37-member Zoning Committee to make recommendations for the zoning of various elective positions for the 2023 general elections”.
Earlier in his address, the PDP National Chairman, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu lamented that every aspects of national live has collapsed under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and called on all party members to put it’s house in order as the party has the opportunity to cash in on APC failures and return to power.
“From the economy, the security situation is terrible. We can’t travel by road, we can’t travel by rail. Recently, we can’t even travel by air, for lack of aviation fuel, we have never had it so bad.
“I believe we must not lose focus of where we are going. Nigerians have confidence in the DDP Nigerians believed that only this party will come to power to restore the glory of Nigeria.
“And it is on this note that I’m calling every single member of the PDP family to put their differences aside. We are not out to fight against ourselves. Our goal is to unite the party, go out fight as we used to do, win elections as we used to do.
“I call on every member of this party to forget their differences, if there are differences we must settle such differences in house, no party members should attack another party member.
“If there are any issues, we have different organs of the party to resolve party differences. We’re talking to individual members who have differences among themselves, whether in the wards, whether in the local governments, whether in the States or the national level, because such distractions must not be allowed to continue” he charged members..
NEC noted that Nigerians are now looking up to the PDP for solutions and as such urged all party members to remain united in the PDP’s mission to Rescue and Rebuild the country from the misrule of the APC.
