Mr. Peter Obi, Labour Party (LP) Presidential candidate in the 2023 elections has congratulated Bassirou Diomaye Faye on his victory in the recent Senegalese Presidential election.
Also, former Minister of Education in Nigeria, Dr. (Mrs.) Obiageli Ezekwesili, in congratulating him on her X (former Twitter) handle, said the outcome of the Senegalese polls, teaches the lesson that it is The People and not their Politicians that own Democracy, Politics, Government and Governance.
The former Governor of Anambra State, in a post on his X platform, said 44 year-old Faye’s “triumph stands significantly as a testament to the beauty of democracy and the unwavering power of the people.”
While also congratulating the people of Senegal on the feat, Obi said that Faye’s “victory is inspirational and it is a huge boost to Nigerians who are resolute and tirelessly working to ensure that the democratic aspirations of the Nigerian people are realized without hindrance in the years ahead.
According to Ezekwesili, “when a People have finally had Enough and make a determination to change their condition, no power of hell nor schemes of their Politicians can prevail. The People of Senegal have shown the rest of our continent the way. We thank them.”
