Man United had a chastising evening at the American Express Community Stadium on Saturday as Brighton put 4 past David De Gea in The Red Devils’ goal.

Brighton fully deserved the thumping win as they absolutely dominated the visitors throughout the 90 minutes.

The hosts took the lead in the 15th minute when Caicedo picked up a loose ball and drove a shot from 25 yards through Victor Lindelof’s legs and inside the near post.

It was Caicedo’s first goal in English football and it was indeed a lovely and clinical finish.

It went from bad to worse for Manchester United in the second half as Marc Cucurella also scored his first goal in English football.

The goal however came as a result of  terr le defending as he was allowed to run onto a cutback and thump a shot into the roof of the net.

It soon became 3-0 in the 57th minute when Brighton once again carved open United as Marc Cucurella fed Leandro Trossard, who had space to tee up Pascal Gross inside the area to flick a shot past David de Gea.

Leandro Trossard then bundled in the ball from close range to make it 4-0 to Brighton, as an intended goal-line clearance by Diogo Dalot hit him.

The Red Devils had few opportunities to reduce the deficit but the hosts defended well and ensured the visitors returned to Old Trafford without a goal.

The loss means that Man United are out of the top four race as they are currently 5 points behind Arsenal who are in 4th with just a game to play.
