The Nigerian Defence Headquarters has confirmed the arrest of terrorists who mowed down worshippers at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State.
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Lucky Irabor at a meeting with media executives at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja gave the names of those arrested as Idris Ojo, 32; Jimoh Ibrahim, 39.
On June 5, now tagged by many as Black Sunday, gunmen attacked the church in Owo, killing about 40 congregants and injuring many others.
The gunmen were said to be heavily armed as they attacked the helpless congregation.
Rauf Aregbesola, Minister of Interior had said the attack was orchestrated by Islamic State West in African Province (ISWAP).
Gen. Irabor said the arrest was as a result of the collaboration between the military and other security agents.
The army boss also said the military and the security agencies were working hard to secure the release of the victims of the Kaduna train attack.
