Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have invaded Piko village in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and abducted 13 persons.
One of the residents who don’t want his name mentioned, said the abductors allegedly invaded the community which is in Bwari Area Council, midnight last Sunday and operated for hours before kidnapping the victims.
Another eyewitness in the community said 10 persons were abducted in the Chief’s domain, John Jatau, while the other three were outside his domain.
Confirming the incident, the Chief of Piko said the kidnappers have demanded a ransom of N900 million.
He also gave the names of the kidnapped victims from his community to include: Nuhu Anyiwoyi, Emmanuel Nuhu, Danjuma Ali, Parisa Numa, Ezekiel Jatau Shekwosa Ezekiel, Roseline Samuel, Salome Jacob, Abyelo Ezra, and Ezra Male.
He said, “the kidnapping incident occurred last Sunday night at about 11pm.
“The kidnappers raided the village for about one hour without any response, reaction from the community or outsiders.
“The major challenge the community faced that night in terms of communication was as a result of absence of telecommunications network in the village, so they picked people house-by-house, from the community, they picked 13 persons and later release three.
“The Madakin Piko, informed me that they have called and said they need the ramson of N900 million.
When the FCT Police Command spokesperson, DSP Josephine Adeh was contacted through a WhatsApp message, she neither confirmed nor refuted the kidnap incident.
She only said, “when was that?” and never reacted till the time of filing this report.
