It was a gory sight splashed with pain, agony and hopelessness as the courses of victims of the Owo terrorists massacre reverberated, Friday, at the funeral Mass held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State.

Even before the commemcement of the solemn mass which preceeded the mass burial, people wept uncontrollably, heaping courses on the perpetrators of the dastardly act.

Almost all the mourners, with the exception of public officials, lamented the failure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) federal government of President Muhammadu Buhari, who they accused of “importing” the terrorists marauding as cattle hoarders.

The sight of the caskets bearing corpses, their pictures on the order of service,  which showed that the terrorists killed 20 women heightened the tears running down the faces of the congregation.

Not even Governor Akeredolu and wife could hold back the tears as they regularly drapped their eyes, which had turned red, with handkerchief.

There were several priests, drawn from across the Akure Catholic Diocese and beyond, as well as ordained gentlemen of other Christian denominations, who also came to sympathise with the berieved, and asking the federal government to muster the courage to drive away the terrorists now claiming to be cattle herders from the forests and make-shift houses.
