The former Governor of Anambra State, Okwadike (Dr.) Chukwuemeka Ezeife, has passed on at an Abuja hospital on Thursday 14 December.
Born on 20 November, 1938, he marked his 85th birthday anniversary last month.
Okwadike Igbo-Ukwu’s passage occurred at the Federal Medical Centre in Abuja, Chief Rob Nwakaire Ezeife, Chukwuemeka’s younger brother said in a statement.
The statement reads: “On behalf of the Ezeife Dynasty of Igbo-Ukwu, I wish to announce the promotion to glory of our most distinguished son, Okwadike, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, CON, a former Federal Permanent Secretary, the first Executive Governor of Anambra State, a former Political Adviser to the President and former Presidential Aspirant.
“This sad event took place yesterday (Thursday) at 6pm at the Federal Medical Centre, Abuja.
“More details about the deceased and the arrangements for his State Burial will be announced later, Chief Rob Ezeife, Ahaejiejemba Igbo-Ukwu, said on behalf of the family.
